Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

Additional rights for residents of Canada (PIPEDA)

You have the right to access your personal information and request corrections. You have the right to challenge our compliance with PIPEDA by contacting us or by complaining to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

How to exercise your rights

Submit a request through our contact page. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law, generally within 30 days, with one extension where permitted. Exercising your rights is free of charge unless your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.

7. Legal bases for processing (GDPR / UK GDPR)

For visitors in the EU, UK, and EEA, we process your personal information under one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Consent, for non-essential cookies and Insights notification signups
  • Performance of a contract or steps prior to entering a contract, when you contact us about a potential engagement
  • Legitimate interests, for operating and securing the Site, responding to inquiries, and improving our content, where these interests are not overridden by your rights
  • Legal obligation, where we must process personal information to comply with applicable law

8. International data transfers

We are based in the United States and our service providers are primarily located in the United States. If you visit our Site from outside the United States, your personal information will be transferred to, processed in, and stored in the United States. The United States has not been deemed by the European Commission or the UK to provide an equivalent level of data protection.

When we transfer personal information from the EU, UK, or EEA to the United States, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or the UK Addendum to the SCCs, as incorporated in our service providers' data-processing terms. You may request a copy of the relevant safeguards through our contact page.

9. Data retention

  • Contact-form submissions are retained for up to 24 months after our last interaction, then deleted, unless a signed engagement is in place (in which case the engagement agreement governs).
  • Insights notification email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe.
  • Web server logs are retained for up to 12 months for security and troubleshooting purposes.
  • Consent records are retained as long as required by applicable law (typically 12 to 24 months).

10. Security

We take reasonable and appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including TLS encryption in transit, access controls, hardened plugin configurations, vulnerability monitoring, and regular updates. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a personal-data breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the relevant supervisory authorities to the extent required by applicable law.

For details about how we handle data once an engagement begins, see our Trust page.

11. Links to other sites

The Site may contain links to third-party websites we do not operate. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or security of those sites. We recommend you review their privacy policies before providing personal information.

12. Children

The Site is intended for adult professional audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

13. Do Not Track signals

Some browsers transmit "Do Not Track" signals. There is no consistent industry standard for how these should be interpreted, and the Site does not currently respond to them. We do, however, honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where they are recognized by our consent-management platform.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the Site or, where appropriate, by direct contact.
